LUVINIA is a free MMO from OUTSPARK.

As you can see from the screenshots here, it is a bright and colourful manga style game with cute rather than ferocious looking characters and creatures and has an elevator-style tune constantly playing joyfully in the background.  One of the better things about this MMO is that you can click on the name in Red on a Quest and you will run to that person/place etc without getting stuck behind trees and other obstacles. Therefore if you have a long journey you can go make a coffee (or get rid of one) and come back to the game to find yourself at the location and ready. Movement is easy and can be by arrow keys or mouse click. Annoyingly  though, the camera mode doesn’t allow you much of an up/down view.  At level 10 you can earn a mount and ride it - using the same movement rules. You are given a horse, but during the beta I got to ride a big pink bunny for 14 days, all cute and fluffy. You can start a Guild (Family) without having to enlist others, but you need 3 within 3 days, and you can enjoy a lot of the early game playing solo - rather like most MMO’s.

Rewards for Quests can be anything from XP and Cash to game cards. Items and denizens reappear very quickly so there is often no need to search fro them.  Combat is good because you do not need to continually click on the target, one attack click and away the combat goes. Of course you can butt in with special attacks. However in a way there is a downside to the quick reappearance of items and creatures as you can get lazy and just stay in one spot killing the same critter over and over - I did this with one Boss and was collecting 800-900 XP every 40 seconds.

For a Free game this is fun. It appears to have taken the good from other games and melded it into one clean mechanical play. Although this is good, the A.I. is comparible to an arcade game and  is no comparison to mmo’s like the World of Warcraft - some of the quests are just as mind-numbing though - kill 35 of this , take a message to there etc.
